In addition, we are determined to make sure that all children have enough of everything. This requires the cooperation of everyone who is willing to help them.

Inspiring humanity – “both in heaven and on earth” we are dedicated to giving people a sense of roots and reminding them of the meaningful things in life, as well as inspiring others to do the same.

Our donors help us build a home together for the youth. We cherish our benefactors. Our cooperation is built on transparency, mutual support, and respect. Our results show our dedication. We care about each other, and our unique character reflects our group, culture, and religion.

It is our plan to build a future for the youth. Those who are 18-23 years old and don’t have parental support or care have a chance to study or live in a family environment. All that is for the purpose of having a stable community with integrated participants and deinstitutionalization. We want them to have college degrees and training, and encourage them to have an independent life, and to live outside of foster care or institutions. In the end, we plan to help them find and get a job. 

Our goal is to collect 2.500.000,00 EUR in order to build a home for those who don’t have where to go after turning 18. The location is in the vicinity of Kastav, near Rijeka and Opatija, and an object will be built for youth without parental care, for the purpose of helping them get into college, funding scholarships, and supporting their growth, development, and self-care.

While we are building a youth home, we want to create sponsorship programs 1:1 where an individual or church can be connected with the students and offer them the opportunity to donate scholarships or support the college. With this project, we are confident that many issues will be solved. Many children will be given a chance to build a better future, and don’t have to live on the streets anymore. As long as they don’t finish their schooling or college, we will offer them full support from 18-23 years old.

The “Charity Organization for Youth Without Parental Care dr. sc Ivica Križ”, Goranska 148, 51307 Prezid, plans to build a Home for the Youth on locations k.č.br 1896., 1927., 1926., all in k.o. Kastav. The project envisages the construction of a social building in the town of Kastav, in the construction area of the Kastav settlement, which is located within the spatial plan of the town of Kastav.
The planned building is constructed as a free-standing building, with a basement, ground floor, and two floors (S+D+2). The area of the project is approximately 2,500 m2. The terrain within the catchment zone is irregular, compact, and covered with local vegetation or gravel falling to the south. The purpose of the building is social.

The horizontal dimensions of the building, the facade and roof design, and the selection of building materials are harmonious with the surrounding buildings, the settlement as a whole, and the typology of the landscape. All the functions of the Home for Youth are contained in the social building, which combines all the activities of the client, that is, the user. This facility is equipped with optimally connected and unified functional units that ensure the optimal and rational functioning of all work processes.

The basement floor serves as the laundry room, boiler room, two warehouses, and a part of the social hall. Vertical communications with the ground floor are achieved by internal staircases. The basement floor is located in the southwest wing of the building.

The ground floor consists of 12 apartments for young people, social rooms, a lobby and living room on the southwest facade, and a restaurant with a kitchen on the northeast facade. Vertical communications with the 1st and 2nd floors are achieved through internal staircases.

The first floor is mostly used for apartments and accompanying social rooms, such as a lobby, offices, and a meeting room. There are 3 types of apartments of different types on the ground floor.

The second floor contains four classrooms, as well as an office and a chapel. The 2nd floor is smaller than the ground floor and the 1st floor and is located in the center of the building. The horizontal and vertical dimensions of the building, the design of the facade and roof, and the construction materials used are in harmony with the surrounding buildings, the settlement as a whole, and with the typology of the landscape.

The building will be built using classic construction, i.e. building load-bearing external walls with block bricks with a total thickness of 40 cm and load-bearing internal walls with a thickness of 30 cm. The roof structure will be constructed as a reinforced concrete structure / semi-prefabricated structure – a gable roof. Cornices are made of tin gutters. The roof will be constructed from grooved clay tiles of the “bathtub” type, along with hydro and thermal insulation layers. The facade of the building will be made of insulating material, finished with plaster, and covered with a silicate or lime coating with a granular structure in lime white or light ocher. For external carpentry, wooden carpentry will be installed, alternatively al. Lock, all glazed with heat-insulating glass. All openings are arranged in the ratio (width: height) from 1:1 to 1.5. The building’s facade is designed in the form of the letter “L,” with regular strokes. Strip foundations will be used for the building, which will be the subject of the main construction project.
The building’s partition walls will be made of bricks for partition walls with a thickness of 10 cm and 20 cm, and they will be finished with extension plaster, troweled, and painted. The floors are made as a floating floor (concrete slab and XPS sound insulation as a base), and finished. The openings in the building are located in accordance with the internal organization of the space. This ensures unhindered communication and the necessary lighting and immediate ventilation of the premises.
According to the physical study of the main project, it is planned to use high-quality and proven materials, technologies, and processes that are common to this type of building during construction. Other structural elements are determined according to the calculation of mechanical resistance and stability.

When designing, it is mandatory to apply the provisions of the Ordinance on ensuring the accessibility of buildings for people with disabilities and reduced mobility (Official Gazette 78/13). The ground floor of the building at ground level, i.e. the parking area, is intended for visitors, and accessibility for people with disabilities and reduced mobility is ensured so that all conditions in the Ordinance and spatial planning documentation are met (min. 5% of parking spaces reserved for people with disabilities).

Welcome to our website. We are a non-profit organization called “Charity Organization for Youth Without Parental Care dr. sc. Ivica Križ“. Our mission is to raise funds for young people without parental care through a crowdfunding campaign named: “Let’s build them a future.” Once they turn 18 years old, the system lets them down, leaving them to care for themselves.

With our campaign, starting in December 2022, we will provide those who lack a home, parenthood, and support with enough funds for a roof over their heads, food, or a scholarship for college.

As a result, youth will have a better chance of establishing a positive future for themselves. 

The organization is founded by Ivica Križ, a monk of the German Knights Teutonic Order, a university professor, book publisher, scientist, and animal lover. He has received numerous recognitions and awards. Finally, he was designated as Volunteer of the Year for the county of Primorsko Goranska.
